The Smallmouth Bass fishing is HOT right now!
DRIFT BOAT TRIPS
SMALLMOUTH BASS:
The spring spawn is typically the best time of the year to catch big fish (2-8lbs.). The pre-spawn is already under way and I would be happy to provide you with additional reports upon request. Subsurface flies are most productive during this time, but as the water temps rise, so will the fish to topwater flies. There are several sections we target based on conditions. One is the French Broad River section near the Biltmore Estate, which is within the Asheville city limits. There are several lodging options, from a cabin on the river, to a suite in the heart of downtown Asheville. We also provide safari style overnight trips that include two days of fishing and accommodations.

TROUT:
The tailwaters in East Tennessee offer great spring fishing to the intermediate or advanced angler. We can assist you with several lodging options right on the river, or nearby Johnson City. The Watauga river has great caddis hatches starting march, with sulfurs becoming present in May. If you haven't been on this river, it is very scenic with 100'+ rock bluffs, bald eagles and wild turkeys in abundance. Great all around dry fly fishing during spring. Summer brings on the beetles, and the big brown trout move to the banks to feed on beetles falling out of trees.
The South Holston is bigger and more technical than the Watauga, but offers 19 miles of great water. You'll have the opportunity to throw dries, nymphs and streamers on the Soho, depending on the day. The South Holston is noted as one of the finest rivers on the east coast, boasting a large wild fish population and Brown Trout measured in pounds, not inches.
North Carolina's Tuckeseegee offers great fishing for the beginner or intermediate angler and is regulated as a stocked Delayed Harvest river. We recommend trips on the "Tuck" during spring and fall months only.

WADING
Trout: This area has an abundance of backcountry style wild trout streams that offer great dry fly fishing and epic scenery. These trips often require some hiking and rock hopping.
All designated stocked DH water begins receiving plantings the 1st week in April and remains catch and release until June 1st. These waters are great for good numbers!
Several streams in the area also get the Green Drake hatch. This typically happens in May, but I would compare it to the salmon hatch out west. Its hard to catch, but if you do it's lights out.
Come fish with us and we'll take you on an unforgettable adventure!
