Smallmouth Bass Whitewater float Fishing Trips
We are pleased to bring you an adventure that is hard to find on the east coast. We are fortunate to have access to the French Broad River section 9 and the Nolichucky Gorge which offer a truly remote wilderness experience. Asheville Fly Fishing Company is the only guide service in the Asheville area offering a Smallmouth Bass fishing trip on Class III+ / IV whitewater. AFFC guides are trained to the highest level: ACA Level IV Swift Water Rescue, CPR / First Aid certified and fully insured.
This trip does not target the whitewater, it targets the fish that live within. We prefer lower water levels for best fishing conditions which also means the rapids are not as intense. When we are navigating a rapid, you sit down and hold on. As soon as we get through the rapid, you are fishing again. We row rafts with fishing frames where you can stand up and fish in between rapids. Because this water is far removed from civilization and filled with Class III+ rapids, it gets very little pressure from fishermen. These trips offer excellent Smallmouth Bass fishing and flow through some of the most remote, beautiful sections of river found in the eastern US. This is the water we fish on our days off. We would like to share it with you!
This trip is for experienced, athletic anglers and isn’t for everyone. Life jackets and helmets required! If you think this trip is for you, please submit your inquiry by completing the application at the bottom of this page. We look forward to getting on the water with you!
